Istanbul taxi fare calculator
Enter where you are going from and to, and see the estimated taximeter fare by distance. The calculation uses the official tariff of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, valid from 20 July 2026.
How is the taxi fare calculated?
The taximeter fare has three parts: an opening fee, the distance driven, and the time spent moving slowly or waiting. Below 12.5 km/h the time tariff applies; above it, the distance tariff applies.
For a yellow taxi: 71.94 TL opening fee plus 47.92 TL for every kilometre. The fare is at least 230 TL per ride.
The estimate on this page includes only the opening fee and distance. Waiting in traffic (598.90 TL per hour), bridge and motorway tolls come on top. The final fare is shown on the taximeter.

FAQ
Why does the calculator not include traffic?
Waiting time in traffic cannot be known in advance. The estimate is based on the opening fee and distance; the final fare is shown on the taximeter.
Are bridge and motorway tolls included?
No. Tolls are not included in the taximeter and are paid separately.
Is there a separate night tariff?
The current tariff table published by the municipality does not list a separate night tariff. The taximeter is what counts.
Why can the result differ from the taximeter?
The actual route, traffic and waiting time change the amount. The calculator gives an approximate lower estimate.
